In which Annie finally gets her shit together to take a photo of the knitted bag

Galway Bag.jpg

This is the “Galway Bag” pattern. It calls for Galway worsted weight yarn, but I used wool-pak (a 14-ply, I think) instead. The felted texture is nubbly…almost as though there were slubs in the yarn, and there weren’t.

I made a matching smaller bag for Hannah, but hers is embellished with a knitted rose (out of the Nicky Epstein Embellishments book).

Right now I’m still working on the wildfoot socks and on a Sophie bag for a friend.

In which Annie “confesses” to her weight

OK, so I’ve been doing the South Beach thing (as well as I can) since the first of August, and I’m fairly well pleased with how things are going.

Start: 158
Current: 144
Goal (by the Xmas holidays): 130

I can live with fourteen pounds in 8 weeks. Absolutely!

And if I “make goal,” I’m going to treat myself to a world-class shopping trip after the holidays to help make sure I stay there.

Ta for now.

In which Annie Realizes that she hasn’t posted a knitting picture in a Very Long Time

So here you go…the socks I’m working on for me out of Brown Sheep Wild Foot “Ragtime.” A little blurry, but the colors (on my monitor) are fairly accurate)
