The kids left last night with DMIL for 24 days, and this morning Eric and I rattled around the house not sure what do do with ourselves. But we’re figuring it out pretty quick. We’ve gotten a lot of work done on the garage, and we’re starting to make a dent on the HUGE oil stain on the driveway (this is what happens when your husband puts in a new oil cooler on a car that is nearly 35 years old without replacing the hoses…five quarts of oil is LOT on your pristinely white driveway).
Tonight we’re going for beer and happy hour at a local watering hole, and I having fun dating DH again. Too bad it’s 107 today–or I’d think about taking the motorcycle for a spin in Red Rock canyon first. But the thought of putting on long pants, heavy shoes, gloves and a black full-faced helmet is …offputting to say the least. At least I managed to talk DH out of going sailing this afternoon–the temp at Lake Mead was pushing 113, and there is absolutely no shade on the lake.
Sorry about the lack of spinning and knitting posts lately. I’ll try to take advantage of the peace and quiet to take some pictures of current projects. There’s definitely enough natural light around!
