Changing Times

Monday, April 24th, 2006

OK, so after receiving 264 spam comments this weekend, I clicked the options to make folks register/sign in to post a comment. I hate doing that, but geezy peezy, I’m sick of having to scroll through all the crap to find the good stuff. So we’ll see if it works. If things aren’t working for some reason, drop me an email to gmail.com to annie dot tarbox (all one word).

Thanks!

Finally FO Pictures

Saturday, April 22nd, 2006

I managed to find ten minutes with the computer and no just a few interruptions so that I can finally post some PICTURES!!!

First, remember when we were here with Clapotis?

SpiderHole

Well, the dog and I finally came to an understanding (I banished his skinny white ass outside!), and now we have the lovely and talented Adele wearing her new Clapotis:

Standing

You don’t think she looks happy, do you? The funny thing is, I don’t really know Adele all that well, and I don’t really even think we’d consider ourselves friends. We worked together for about 8 months, and while we did, I came to appreciate her bohemian spirit. And nothing says Bohemian like a Clapotis, eh?

Next on our list is the Amazing E.Z. Brush. No, really–that’s his name. Ezekiel Zachary Brush, first son of my brother TomHenry and his wife Juli. Zeke was born on January 1, and while he wasn’t the first baby of the new year, he’s my first nephew. Isn’t he beautiful?

And here is is wearing the super easy sweater I knit for him from the free pattern on the PTYarns website:

EZSweater

And, of course, the feet:

EZSocks

How’s that?

Time for a nap. Took the kids for a three-mile hike in Red Rock this morning, and I’m bushed.

Checking in

Thursday, April 6th, 2006

I have all the intentions of creating a kick-ass post showing all the projects I’ve accomplished lately, but I keep finding other things that have to be done instead. And then when I do have time, I’m either at work with no pictures, or at home with an anxious husband breathing on my neck, waiting his turn at the computer. You know how that goes.

I made the Bottom Up Circular Seamless Baby Booties from the 2006 Knitting Pattern a Day calendar. Very successful, although I’m wondering whether the hassle of the provisional caston is truly worth it for baby booties for babies that won’t be wearing them for walking. I also finished a Norling strawberry hat (a coworker’s sister is having a girl sometime in the next few weeks). I have pictures of the finished Clapotis (look, Ma! No holes!) and the happy recipient–who promptly packed her new Clappy for her month-long trip to the Mexican interior.

I also finished another pair of socks–this pair for DD Hannah–in pink this time. Opal Flamingo, to be exact. She loves them, but then pointed out (with all the aplomb of a getting-too-smart-for-her-own-good seven year-old) that this was April in Las Vegas, and it’s already 80 degrees. Oh wells. They’re plenty big for next year.

More as soon as I can!
