No, really–I haven’t fallen off the face of the earth, but the last few weeks of the summer have been busy, I’ve had company, the kids came back from New York, school started, soccer practice… All that, and a bag of chips.
Not really good excuses for not posting, but they’re my excuses, and I’ll stick with them. Besides, with our tenth anniversary just behind us, DH and I have been revisiting some of the reasons we got married/stayed married–and they’re all fun! One thing from our past we won’t be recreating is the unfortunate night of the Aquavit…let’s just say that there’s a reason they serve Aquavit in little tiny glasses instead of rocks glasses…I belched carroway for weeks after that (ugh!),
I’m working on a sweater right now, and a few pairs of socks–one for my mother in KnitPicks Vineyard (thanks again, Sylvia!), and one for DH in Regia jacquard. I’m still trying to find one last skein of Elann’s Peruvian Pure Alpaca in color 402 (one skein, people! One! One stinkin’ skein!!!), but for some reason I keep getting to the “close, but no cigar” stage of finding one. I’ve got all kinds of searches in eBay, desperate pleas for help in the Elann swapcenter, and numerous pleas out there in blogland. If you know of anywhere else I might look, I’d be willing to sell my firstborn be mighty greatful.
