Doing the Nablopomo Thing

Friday, October 31st, 2008

So with having all this “free” time on my hands, I thought I’d try to get back into the writing thing. So I’m committing to doing the post-a-day for all of November. My guess is that sometime around Thanksgiving I’ll have to figure out the “timed” posting, but I think I need to get into the habit of writing everyday. Don’t want to lose those brain cells, right?

Happy Almost Halloween

Wednesday, October 29th, 2008

Hannah, Luke, and I had a lot of fun this afternoon decorating for I hate to admit it, but Halloween is my least favorite holiday (sorry Viki!)–I think because I grew up in such a rural environment, and trick or treating was a major PITA.

Anyway, we made a really cool garbage bag spider to go with all our spiderwebs all over the house. Here’s the spider:

Pretty cool, huh?

And today was pretty cool as a whole, especially with getting to meet Sylvia in person after knowing her in cyberspace for nearly ten years. Hard to believe that it’s been that long! Syl, it was fantastic to meet you in person–especially because everything felt so comfortable. Nathania’s Purlescence is great, and little Ellie is adorable. So a great day overall.

Found the way to San Jose

Yes, indeed, I did find the way to san jose. With a few bumps (and failed brakes) along the way. But that’s a story for when I don’t need to get dinner started.
