090327 – TGIFF

Friday, March 27th, 2009

Whew, what a long week. Or maybe it’s just that today was a long day. But I accomplished much today (got the company newsletter content to the designer, cleaned out a bunch of files, got the *%&(%^ business cards delivered, got my truck smogged, got the taxes dropped off with the accountant, got both kids’ rooms cleaned, got Hannah packed for her slumber party tonight) Crap. I’m tired just listing all this stuff!

Anyway, sorry for the recent commercial messages on the blog. I’ve been experimenting with links/content to see what it does to my blog statistics.

So let me leave you with some pics from my yard, my trip to Vegas, Mia’s visit, and some experiments in portraiture in the backyard this afternoon.

090324 – A bit of a learning curve

Tuesday, March 24th, 2009

So one of things I’m learning in this job is how difficult it is to empty the ocean with a teaspoon…but with perserverance….

Anyway, I do like that I’m learning much more about social media and how it can be used for good! not evil! It will definitely be part of my preparations for accreditation in public relations.

And here’s one of the sites I’ll be using as a resource: http://mydl.me/. It’s a podcast by a social media guru on managing all that goes on in your digital world (although I’m skeptical that it will be able to get a handle on mine!)

090318 – It’s my birthday!

Wednesday, March 18th, 2009

Woo! Apparently I’ve confused the hell out of the world because I didn’t post my real birthday on Facebook. So my birthday celebrations started a day early–of course, I didn’t have the heart to tell people I’ve actually been celebrating all year!

The picture-taking during the trip didn’t go as well as I’d planned, but I did get one fun shot with Peter Shankman of the Yarn Bus fame (see www.shankman.com).

And as much as I enjoyed Shankman, I enjoy my kids more–aren’t they adorable???
