The morning has been filled with good stuff already today. First was realizing that Claudia was able to raise more than $30,000 to support the MS Society. I’m proud to have helped out again this year, and will be heading to the post office later this afternoon to mail a prize to Tina Newton of Blue Moon Fiber Arts fame, and home of the incredible Notorious Sock Knitters World Domination Tour 2009 (click the link–the pages are a hoot!).
Other good stuff includes a new batch of plum jam. I’m a little apprehensive about this batch since the plums were a little more ripe than I anticipated. Ironically, soft, juicy plums do not make the best jam. Worst case scenario is that DH will have some incredible plum sauce to plop on his ice cream, so it’s a win no matter how the jam jells.
More good stuff: the pictures of my children on Maggie’s Farm Blog. The pictures help reassure DH and I that the kids are happy and having fun, especially when we start getting lonely for them. I love reading about their adventures in horseback riding, but my favorites are the pictures and stories of them having fun together. Hannah just turned 11, and the older she gets, the less patience she has for her little brother (the Paperweight–who’s not so little any more!).
One last piece of good stuff–work/writing is going especially well this morning–so well that it’s letting me take some breaks. I don’t want to jinx myself, but if this progress continues, I may have an easier weekend than I anticipated, which would be most excellent. DH and I are hoping to start exploring the area, and it would be nice not to have to take the laptop with me.
ooh–just one more good thing–the hummingbirds are arguing over the feeder outside my office window–so far I’ve counted five–We’ll see who wins the territory war. I should pick up another feeder on my way home this afternoon!
