My beautiful baby princess turns six tomorrow, and it’s so hard for me to believe that she’s a wonderful young girl, bubbly, laughing, reading, playing with her brother…and yesterday she was a tiny infant, balled up fists and flailing legs…sigh. They grow up so fast. Stop the world–I want to get off for a few years and just watch her.
And monday Hannah and Luke leave to go spend two weeks with DMIL, at her farm in Eastern PA. They’ll have a wonderful time, meeting and playing with all the animals, getting dirty, eating good stuff from the garden. And I’ll try not to worry the whole time. Eric’s mom had twins after him, and so the eyes in the back of her head have been well-trained. I know that. But no one watches my kids the way I do. Know what I mean?
After their two weeks at Maggie’s farm, Maggie and Matt will bring them down to my mother’s house on the Eastern Shore of MD. Eric and I will be there waiting for them, and we’ll have a great crab feast on the fourth of July. I can’t wait–beer, crabs, sun, fun, kids, and lots of “I love you Mommy” hugs. And then Eric and I will have to go back to work, but the kids will get to stay at my mother’s for another two weeks of playing in the sand on the beach. Lucky kids.
OK, time to get Hannah out of the shower and Luke out of the tub. More later.
